Shannon Construction has a rich legacy of building going back to 1927, that grew into the formation of Shannon construction in 1971. Built on a foundation of fairness and doing whats right has served Shannon well as the business has grown over the past 45 years.
As Shannon continues to build a culture of success and a legacy of craftsmanship and service, the constructor is also looking for new ways to leverage technology.
Micro-rewards and incentives have a big impact on job site safety and productivity. Yet most constructors use outdated gift cards and often reward people in a way that has little impact on the bottom line (like bringing in a food truck at the end of the week). Whistle Rewards is helping constructors like Shannon reinforce safety behaviors and build on the values serving at the core of the Shannon business. The first step in this process was to address the use of Procore project management tools on the job site.

“The Whistle Rewards platform and team has exceeded our expectations across the board”
Daily Log completion rates were inconsistent and many areas of the Procore Daily Log were underutilized – across many projects at Shannon Construction. Expected components like taking photos to document process or log safety activities were being missed by superintendents and foreman. The lack of reporting consistency made it harder to identify opportunities for improving SOPs and performance. More complete reporting and records can also help with future claims and liability management. Shannon needed a way to the improve consistent use of Daily Log reporting tools in Procore.
Shannon Construction activated Whistle Rewards for Procore across 16 projects incentivizing the completion of the Daily Log in Procore, including a review of each component – manpower logs, inspection reporting and photos. Whistle deployed a program with three incentive components to help get supervisors engaged, form new habits and change daily behavior.
Not only did Shannon Construction see a dramatic increase of activity in photos being uploaded and daily log activities, but new parts of Procore not included in the reward pilot also benefited by the increased engagement with the platform. Work logs, equipment logs and delivery logs – previously not completed, started to become part of the daily supervisor reporting activity.
The overall record keeping in the platform increased over 800% by the end of six months of Whistle Rewards activation.
You make a significant investment in Procore and often how people use Procore has a big impact on your bottom line. Whistle was designed to improve the behaviors on the job site that drive your success. By automating incentives for specific actions in Procore or serving as an ad-hoc rewards tool to build culture, Whistle is helping constructors improve safety outcomes, productivity and profitability. on a job site.
