At Whistle Rewards, we’re constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in team recognition, rewards and incentives to improve behavioral outcomes. Today, we’re delighted to announce our latest innovation: real-time group creation with QR codes, designed to make spot rewards for impromptu gatherings easier than ever.

Bridging the Gap in Group Rewards

While Whistle has been an industry leader in spot rewards, peer-to-peer recognition, and performance incentives, we identified a crucial gap: the ability to reward multiple people on the spot without pre-established groups. This need was particularly evident in the construction industry’s “toolbox talks” – informal group discussions focusing on critical safety issues.

“We recognized that our clients needed a way to incentivize attendance at these crucial safety meetings quickly and efficiently,” remarked Chris Dornfeld, President of Whistle. “Our new QR code group creation feature is the perfect solution, blending the immediacy of spot rewards with the power of group incentives.”

Introducing QR Code Group Creation

Our new feature allows you to create a group in real-time, right in the middle of the reward process. Here’s how it works:

  1. Begin the reward or recognition flow in the Whistle platform
  2. Choose to create a new group with a QR code
  3. Display the generated QR code to your audience (you can also text the link)
  4. Participants scan the code and enter their name and email or phone
  5. Complete the reward process to send incentives to your newly formed group

This streamlined process takes mere seconds, making it perfect for spontaneous recognition moments like toolbox talks, impromptu team meetings, or on-the-spot safety observations.

Benefits Beyond Construction

While inspired by the construction industry, this feature has applications across various sectors:

  • Retail: Reward staff attending last-minute store meetings
  • Hospitality: Recognize teams for handling unexpected rushes
  • Healthcare: Incentivize attendance at urgent safety briefings

“This feature exemplifies our commitment to innovation in the rewards space,” commented Ben Valenti, Head of Engineering at Whistle. “We’re not just solving problems; we’re creating new possibilities for recognition and engagement.”
